Lens: Gang life in South Korea

1/28/2013

Last week I wrote a post for Lens about a series of photographs by Yang Seung-woo, a South Korean photographer working out of Japan. I first saw his work on Facebook, of all places. I was struck by the moody tone of the images, as well as the originality in the work and in his story. These are the kind of photos people need to see.

Seung-woo, who doesn't speak any English, was difficult to track down. Eventually I got in touch through Mark Pearson at Zen Foto in Tokyo, where I hope to visit in March. See Seung-woo's photos here. (And follow the links to see more.)
